John Beardslee

John Beardslee is an aviation security industry leader with over three decades of increasing responsibility in the field. For almost two decades, until 2005, he served as Senior Director, Corporate Security for Continental Airlines, responsible for policy development and execution in the areas of Cargo Security, Facility Security, Regulatory Compliance, Threat Analysis and response, Fraud/Theft detection and investigation, Executive Protection, Terrorist and Fraud profiling, Narcotics and Contraband interdiction, Strike and labor unrest responses, TSA/FAA/ICE/CBP security requirements implementation, security equipment testing and evaluation, and security related training. Prior to working in aviation security John managed an air freight facility for TWA at JFK. He currently consults on aviation security issues.

John proposed and chaired the FAA/ATA Task Force that developed Positive Target Identification, the bomb threat analysis tool currently used successfully by most major US airlines. He led the Continental Airlines team in the development of the highly successful Automated Passenger Screening product, for improving precision and customer service during FAA/TSA required pre-screening of passengers traveling from international Extraordinary Security stations to the US. Under John’s direction, pioneering work was accomplished in the use of data warehouse queries for fraud detection.

John holds a Bachelor of Science from New York University and a Master of Business Administration from Long Island University.
